Nadi Shuddhi
A breath practice that brings mind and system into balance
The pranayam known as Nadi Shuddhi uses the breath to bring our system and mental structure into balance. Bringing thoughts into balance is a very important step that one needs to take if one wants to bring balance to their activities, emotions and the results of their life. When the mind is calm then memorising, remembering, following a conversation or a train of thought is something that simply happens. Things are clear, we reason well and the mind functions optimally.
Benefits include:
- Brings stability of the mind to an unimaginable level
- Relieves anxiety, stress and mental tension
- Balances thoughts, activities and emotions
- Brings a deep sense of peace throughout the day
In Other Words…
When you are running and you reach the limit of your endurance so that you have to stop to catch your breath, if at that moment someone gave you a math problem while you were out of breath, you would not be able to solve it, because there is an intimate connection between your breath and your mental structure. Likewise, through the breath you can bring your mental structure into a state of complete balance where the mind will be at the peak of its capabilities. Nadi Shuddhi is the process with which you can achieve this possibility.
